June - Alexandrite or Pearl

Alexandrite, a type of chrysoberyl, was discovered in the Ural Mountain emerald minds in 1830. It was named "alexandrite" in honor of the then current ruler of Russia, Czar Alexander II.

When held under an artificial light, the stone's color changes between red and green.
